“Trust your intuition – you’ll know when it’s time to let go”

I have been a lover of movement for as long as I can remember but only discovered yoga while living in Montreal in my mid-twenties. When I attended that first yoga class in a beautiful, old, curious building on a bright, bitterly cold day, I was blown away by the feeling of wellness, lightness and warmth that came over me as the class progressed. I felt alive, completely at ease and somehow softer on myself. The teacher ended the class with this line and I’ll never stop being moved by it:

“let your inner critic be one of kindness and compassion”

Determined to take the practice further and help other people start their own wellness journeys, I undertook my yoga teacher training with YogaHub in Dublin in 2018. I was working full time as an Investment Manager but was determined to make something of the yoga – even if only on the side – so I started teaching straightaway.

Experiencing other people’s post-yoga glow was like discovering the practice myself all over again. The amount of joy it brings me is immense and enduring. I have struggled with self-belief for as long as I can remember but never when it comes to yoga – the passion for it is that strong. Teaching online during the pandemic got me through some dark days and I’m so grateful to my loyal clients who have followed me along my journey.

My Style of Yoga

I am a very energetic person and love strong, dynamic sequences. I want yoga to feel empowering and invigorating for you! However powerful the sequences may be, they always end with a beautifully serene relaxation, to invite some quiet reflection and have you floating home.

As someone who works in an office and in an industry that can be stress-inducing and fast-paced, I know only too well the havoc that can cause on our bodies and minds. I design sequences that can help reset the posture, protect the spine, open up the shoulders, build strength in the legs and core but, most importantly, help us come back to ourselves – coming out of the thinking body and into the feeling body. Yoga is often described as moving meditation. Being focused on mindful, meaningful movement that is linked with our breath can be deeply grounding and help us feel more connected to ourselves.
